This is the most conservative approach we can take to enhance your smile. The benefits to this approach is the low cost and relative simplicity compared to other treatments. This is great for patients who like the size and shape of their teeth but want to brighten the color. It is not effective on existing crowns and fillings so you must consider this when choosing this option. Also, it may not work on some teeth that have deeper stains. This process involves having whitening trays made and bleaching agents given to use which you can use at home. For some patients, sensitivity can be an issue so we recommend starting out slowly as you whiten your teeth. It can also be effective to put desensitizing agents (such as Sensodyne) in the trays before starting the bleaching process.
This patient used whitening trays (and some bonding) to totally transform his smile! He was a great candidate for whitening due to the yellow stain and discoloration.

Fortunately we now have a technique to remove these white spots without drilling on the tooth or getting you numb! This technique takes about 30 minutes in the office and patients love it because of its simplicity and fast results!
The white spots on this patient’s front teeth had always bothered her. In one appointment with no numbing or drilling we were able to remove the white spots and boost her smile! She returned later to complete the same procedure on her back teeth and do whitening!
Dental bonding is a great way to fix your front teeth if parts of the teeth are chipped or stained. With dental bonding, the chipped or stained portion is removed and replaced with a tooth colored filling material. While this is a conservative and less expensive option, there are occasionally issues where the bonding chips or stains after years of use. However, this is still a great option and many patients enjoy the conservative nature of the treatment and the fast results!
Dental bonding was perfect for this patient who suffered from tooth decay causing dark staining- only the decayed portions of the tooth were repaired! The results were immediate and the patient returned several weeks later for a final polish! He was ecstatic with the results!
